Barely had he recovered from sharing a stage with Mötorhead’s Lemmy on the weekend at the Download Festival in the UK and Slash was off to Italy to play a gig. It was here that a fan appeared to get carried away with the Italian male penchant for hugging other men, and crash tackled Slash to the ground. In footage on Youtube, the heavy set fan can be seen bum rushing the show, and tackling Slash mid – ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine solo.
Slash almost hits the deck before attempting to keep playing, before realising the neck of his guitar has been snapped. He describes the gig as otherwise amazing on his Facebook page.”It was a rowdy crowd for sure – but amazing, The guy who nailed me didn’t take me down but he busted my poor guitar.”
