Ozzy Osbourne has a new album coming out shortly, but some of the stories cropping up at the moment about him seem like some of the most elaborate PR yarns ever released. Only days after suggesting that his body should be donated to science after he dies to see exactly how he survived a 40 year bender, we’re now led to believe that he’ll be one of the few people on the world to have their human genome completely mapped. American company Knome is apparently going to use a blood sample taken from him to help understand why some people can survive a life of excess into a decent age and others can’t.

According to Nathan Pearson, director of research at Knome, “Sequencing and analysing individuals with extreme medical histories provides the greatest potential scientific value.” The testing will take three months and cost around £27,000. Once they’re done with the medical miracle that is Ozzy, it looks like you’ll be up next, Keith Richards.
