We’ve got some damn exciting news for lovers of live music, there’s a brand-spanking new venue opening just in time for summer.
Located at 393 Brunswick Street in Melbourne’s iconically super-cool suburb of Fitzroy, the new live music venue is entitled Little & Olver, which is set to host a range of both national and international live bands and DJs, with the space planning to function as a multi-purpose bar and venue that’s licensed til 5am.
Ideal for scoping out some of the freshest musical talent from the country or catching up with some pals for bevs, the venue also features an outdoor area with seating as well as a grass-covered and plant-filled courtyard with its own garden bar.

Little & Olver replaces First Floor nightclub, with Owner Paul Bagnato detailing his intentions with the funky new space, “With Melbourne losing so many of our iconic live music venues, it was important that the venue still be a place for local bands and DJs to perform,” he says. “I knew the club had seen better days but I wanted it to be more versatile as a venue. I wanted it to be somewhere people would come for a glass of wine or a quiet drink on some nights, while others would come here to party till the wee hours.”
The venue celebrated its grand opening at the beginning of December with the likes of Tornado Wallace, Waxo Paradiso’s Simon TK and throwing one helluva party and if you’re instantly feeling a little bit of FOMO worry not, Little & Olver alongside Warehaus have a killer New Years Eve party lined up, with legendary veteran DJ Greg Wilson ringing in 2015 in style. These venue joins the recent crop of spaces we’ve seen pop-up such as Melbourne’s Shadow Electric band room that powered into full-time, a Cuban themed pop-up bar named El Coco as well as the reopening of Brunswick’s Railway Hotel, in Sydney there has been the addition of The Roller Den, The Hub, The Lewisham Hotel and Bandroom (which replaced the FBi Social), while Brisbane has witnessed an explosion of great venues with The Brooklyn Standard, The Brightside, Woolly Mammoth and ex-Powderfinger member’s stunning refurbished WW2 hanger, The Triffid, not to mention the beautiful venue in the Blue Mountains, Australian’s have plenty of new and exciting live music homes.
