One of New York City’s most celebrated indie record labels is turning 21 and turning their reputation on its ear with a drunken student style road trip to Vegas party for a weekend in October. Appearing at the weekend knees up are not the usual frat boys you’d expect at a drunken 21st, but some of the coolest bands to have graced the imprint over the last 20 years, including Pavement, Sonic Youth, Belle & Sebastian, and the classic Bee Thousand-era line up of Guided by Voices. Joining the headliners from October 1-3 at the Palms Hotel & Casino on the Vegas strip are Yo La Tengo, Cat Power, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the New Pornographers, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Girls, and Fucked Up .
