Norway has struggled to make much of a mark on the rock n’ roll world, give or take the odd death metal act and Eurovision entrant. Except, of course, for poodle permed 80s sex symbols A-Ha! Having girded the loins of many a pubescent girl back in their heyday, Morten Harket and his band of merry Scandanavian songsters broke up before reforming some years ago. They’ve decided to call it a day again and as they prepare for their farewell tour, they’ve also announced a talent contest in which Norwegian bands can compete to win 1 million Kroner (about $AU180,000) as well as the main support slots on their farewell tour. Must be all the sun they get in summer getting to them.
