Batten down the hatches live music fans, Sydney’s incredible Vivid LIVE 2015 has revealed its very first and very exclusive performer and boy golly, it’s one of the most iconic vocalists of the past century.

Morrissey, the incomparable crooner and former frontman of the legendary UK band The Smiths will be delivering a spell-binding set comprising of both Smiths and solo tracks exclusively at Sydney’s Opera House this May.

As an artist like this is so highly sought after, Vivid have implemented a ballot system for tickets, ensuring that any fan has equal opportunity of securing a ticket to Morrissey’s shows.

The ballot will be open from between Monday 2 March 2015 (midday AEDT) and Friday 6 March 2015 (midnight AEDT) and you must apply online at www.sydneyoperahouse.com/morrissey. Should you be successful in the ballot, tickets are $109.00 + bf.

Vivid Sydney, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest festival of light, music and ideas, is owned and managed by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.  Vivid LIVE at the Sydney Opera House forms part of the Vivid Music program and is a celebration of ambitious popular music, running from 22 May – 8 June – the first time the program has run for the duration of Vivid Sydney. Vivid LIVE is the highlight of Sydney Opera House’s year-round contemporary music programming.
