They keep us hanging on. After the release of ‘Lights’ online, the first single from their new eponymous album, Interpol have released a second song from their album for our listening pleasure. Entitled ‘Barricade’ the song will form part of the album which is out on September 7th.
The track is far more upbeat than the bleak and desolate sound of ‘Lights’ and should assist their crossover to stadium band on their upcoming US tour with U2. In fact the song sounds like it could fit seamlessly on to U2’s 1984 album The Unforgettable Fire, which opened the doors to the stadiums they’d later fill across America with The Joshua Tree in 1987.
