Tasmanian post-hardcore outfit Save The Clock Tower have sadly taken to social media to deliver the news that Alex McNulty, their bassist, has passed away.
The band took to Facebook to inform fans of the upsetting news, writing a heartwarming tribute to their fallen musical brother, “today, we carry the heaviest of hearts” the post begins, “we miss you and love you brother, more than any words can ever, ever explain” closing, “Rest in peace Alexander” as Music Feeds report.
There has been no comment as of yet on how McNulty passed away, although a few days ago there was a shock communication from the band noting they had to cancel scheduled shows “due to unforeseen circumstances”, Save The Clock Tower noting that they “were all really looking forward to playing these shows, and are truly sorry that we cannot.”
Aussie contemporaries have been rocked by the news, with many bands offering their grievances, Michael Crafter writing “my condolences go out to all the boys over in tassie” whilst Dollarosa wrote “It’s rare to meet someone in your lifetime that is so filled with passion and joy. Rest in peace, brother.”
Fans too have flooded STCT’s original Facebook post, paying tribute to McNulty, one person writing “Thank you for being the brothers he always wanted he loved you guys so much” whilst another posted “Much love dudes. I didn’t know Alex all that well on a personal level but have known him as a dedicated and talented local muso for many years. Thoughts you with you fellas his mates and family.”
As mentioned, Save The Clock Tower have cancelled their forthcoming tour dates, our thoughts are with McNulty’s family, friends and the band at this difficult time.
