Perth born now Melbourne based poet and songwriter James Teague is today premiering his brand new single ‘Heaven’. It’s his first single in two years, ahead of the release of his sophomore album.
‘Heaven’ is breathtaking and stunning, acoustic dirge woven with ethereal pedal steel guitar and an enchanting vocal performance. The track’s dynamic range, coupled with Teague’s lyrical prowess distinguishes him from his folky counterparts and presents him as one of Australia’s most intriguing songwriters.
Following on from the successful release of his debut album Lavender Prayers, James relocated to Melbourne to write his sophomore record.
Since then, he’s spent his time fleshing out his acoustic songs and collaborating with acclaimed producer and multi-instrumentalist Tony Dupe (Grand Salvo, Jack Ladder and Holly Throsby) at his home studio, The Abandoned Fireworks Factory – a beautiful old parish hall situated a couple of hours out of Melbourne, in Korumburra.
The new album entitled Beyond the Melting Dawn is due for release in November, we cannot wait to hear more from this talented songwriter.
