Lana Del Rey has released a characteristically stylish and over-the-top music video for new single ‘High By The Beach’ in which the singer literally guns down the paparazzi with what appears to be a prop leftover from the production of District 9.

The clip sees Del Rey lounging in her lavish beachside mansion when she spots a paparazzi helicopter hovering in the sky. After writhing around her house and flipping through a magazine, Del Rey makes her way out onto her balcony and shoots down the chopper.

The single is the latest to be taken from the singer’s forthcoming album, Honeymoon, the follow-up to last year’s noirish Ultraviolence, which the singer says will bear a sound more akin to her earlier work on Born to Die and Paradise.

“It’s very different from the last one and similar to the first two… I finished [Ultraviolence] in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It’s growing into something I really like. I’m kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It’s been good,” she told Billboard.
