An enigma wrapped in a riddle, Jimmy Hawk is one of Melbourne’s most loved folk-psych treasures, and his new album ‘Echo Park’ marks his best work to date. With a sound best described as dream filled, Jimmy Hawk sings songs about faded romances and kaleidoscopic affairs, reminiscing on youth and desire. His soulful melodies and swaggering charm has seen him gain plenty of fans and also wow the critics, as well as performing alongside artists such as Cold War Kids, The Temper Trap, Little Red, Kelley Stoltz, and The Shins.

The seeds for Jimmy’s debut were planted when he rented a room in Echo Park, an artistic area of Downtown, L.A. Down in the dumps after the messy breakup of his long time band, he escaped to the artist’s community of Echo Park and surrounded himself with records, a guitar, and sunshine. He lived there for three months, filling his days listening to Dylan, Johnny Burnette and Neil Young and sowing the seeds for what would become‘Echo Park’, the album.

We’re thrilled to have Jimmy launching his new ‘cocaine crazed break up’ single ‘Bullet To The Brain’ at the massive Tone Deaf party at Ding Dong Lounge in Melbourne this coming Saturday 31st July, with Bridezilla and Eagle & The Worm among a cast of thousands. For a limited time, you can download the single for free.
