As the presenter of House Party and Mix Up Exclusives, Nina Las Vegas has been a triple j staple for yonks. It even surprised us to find out that she’s been working for Australia’s national youth broadcaster for more than a decade.
But she’s now announced that she’ll be leaving the station and moving on to a very ambitious new project. Las Vegas is launching her own record label, as she continues to focus on her rising international profile as a producer and DJ.
During her time at triple j, Las Vegas has made triple j’s House Party a weekly tradition for revellers around the country and brought some classic Mix Up Exclusives sets from the likes of Skrillex, Diplo, Maya Jane Coles, Hudson Mohawke, and more.
She’s also had a big helping hand in kickstarting the careers of an entire stable of Australian electronic artists, many of whom are now international stars like Flume, Alison Wonderland, Flight Facilities, Wave Racer, and Tkay Maidza.
“For the past decade triple j, the Australian club scene, supporting local artists and pioneering new electronic music has been my life,” she said in a statement. “I walked into triple j as a work experience kid at 19 and literally worked every job right up until House Party and Mix Up Exclusives.”
“Thank you to triple j for the incredible experience and especially to the triple j listeners for listening to my first triple j mixtapes, calling in to House Party, coming to House Party gigs and texting in when I play something crazy on Mix Up Exclusives.”
Las Vegas already has big news in store for fans, with NLV Records’ first signing set to be announced next week, including Las Vegas’ own release on the label, plus a series of international NLV shows set to be announced before the end of the year.

Before she jumps on a plane bound for the US of A, you can catch Las Vegas on her final Mix Up Exclusives show at 9pm Saturday, 24th October, which will feature some of her favourite producers, famous friends, and big scene names.
As for what fans can expect from Mix Up in the future, November will feature residences from some of the best in Australian electronic music, including Peking Duk, One Day, Elizabeth Rose, and Basenji, with best-ofs running during the summer break.
When Mix Up returns in January 2016, you can expect a whole lot of special monthly residents taking over the show with exclusive sets each and every Saturday night.
