Perth based alt-pop talent Joni in the Moon is today unveiling her breathtaking new single ‘Tarantella’. Described by Abbe May in a recent feature on WA’s most exciting new talents as “Vespertine era Bjork meets Annie Lennox” Joni has been capturing a lot of attention for her otherworldly experimental art-pop and ‘Tarantella’ is no exception.
A follow on from her 2014 album Sorrow Trees, this new single sees Joni continue to produce socially conscious, deeply moving songwriting. Joni explains the meaning behind ‘Tarantella’: “the lyrics are about me dealing with my mental illness and emotional demons as a woman and my desperation in wanting to exorcise those feelings out of my mind, heart and body.”
