Christmas is right around the corner, so it’s time to get your celebration plans in order. If you’re not into the idea of sharing space before the yuletide log with some of Australia’s best punk bands, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard might have the remedy.

The Melbourne psychedelic collective are cordially inviting you to spend the holiday season at a special Chrizzmas party at the UniBar. There’ll be Christmasy drinks, DJs, more bands to be announced, and maybe even an appearance from the big guy himself.

Having sold out their Gizzfest national tour back in May, King Gizzard went on to spread the good word abroad with some massive US and European shows before making their way back home to announce a new national tour with GOAT and the release of their seventh album.

What’s more, with new album Paper Mâche Dream Balloon set to drop this month, the band have confirmed they are already working on a follow-up, which they told triple j will sound absolutely nothing like their latest effort.

“Our next record sounds like Motörhead,” the guys told the station. “It’s way heavier, kind of like early 80s heavy thrash metal, like heavier than Metallica, a lot heavier than Slayer. It’s unlistenable, essentially.”
