The Christmas season is fast approaching, so there’s no better time to get your festive plans sorted. There’s already plenty of options, from punk rock Christmas parties with the likes of Bodyjar to psychedelia sessions with King Gizzard.
But if you’re in the mood for something a tad more traditional, some of the good folks from triple j have you covered. They’re putting on a Christmas pantomime, with all ticket sale proceeds going to a good cause.
Good Lord! It’s Christmas! A Nativity Pantomime is an adult reimagining of the nativity story told through the lost art of pantomime, complete with singing, dancing, and audience participation.
This unique panto was written by Nicholas McDougall (Plonk, The Feed) and Veronica Milsom (triple j, Mad As Hell), with all original songs by triple j’s KLP and Jim Finn of Art vs Science and choreography by Lauren Magri (Dance Central).
There’s also appearances from some of Sydney’s brightest comedy minds and plenty of other triple j personalities, with Al Newstead, Anna O’Bryan, Fran Middleton, Kate Coates, Will Erimya, and more taking the stage.
This dynamic crew will be coming together to tear into the plot holes and implausibility of the familiar Christmas nativity story, fleshing out everyone’s favourite bible character with much-deserved back-stories.
Best of all, 100 percent of ticket proceeds will be donated to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Check below for all the dates and ticketing details.
