Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson has slated promoters and bands for charging too much for tickets.
As the US and UK gig circuit struggles to attract fans to big name gigs which as led to show cancellations, ticket giveaways and half empty stadiums, Dickinson has hit out at promoters, saying that they are at fault for turning the humble live show into a cynical money-making scheme. “It’s a massive commitment to come and see a band They deserve not just a great show, but reasonable ticket prices. It’s just not right, you know – it’s a rock ‘n’ roll show, it’s not a cash cow.”
Conveniently for Iron Maiden, their fans are incredibly dedicated, often spending a small fortune on merchandise at shows, which ensures Iron Maiden are sitting on very healthy bank balances.
