Les Savy Fav have been forced to rush release their new album after it was leaked online. The band scrambled to release Root To Ruin, the follow up to 2007’s Let’s Stay Friends after it started getting seeded on torrent sites. The album was recorded at New York City’s Gigantic Studios and produced by Chris Zane, who also has production credits with Passion Pit and The Walkmen. The band aren’t too happy about the leak, setting up a Twitter page which declares “I haunt people who use leaks of Root for Ruin til they give LSF some $$$ for it: 7 to 1,000 bucks seems fair”. The band are calling for donations on their website, and offering alternative artwork for those who buy a legit copy.
