It’s not long now until Sugar Mountain 2016 is finally here (Saturday, 23rd January to be exact) and as expected it’s packed with an eclectic mix of local and international artists, including Hot Chip, Dirty Three, Courtney Barnett, and more.

Punters heading down to Melbourne’s Victorian College of the Arts this month will also get to witness performances from the likes of Julio Bashmore, Kelela, Le1f, Dām-Funk, Royal Headache, Viet Cong, Empress Of, Tim Sweeney, and Tom Trago.

Something else very exciting that’s happening at Sugar Mountain this year is the Wangler Charity Denim Exchange where the denim-obsessed can exchange a pair of (wearable) jeans/shorts or denim shirt for a pick of Wrangler’s brand new range.

And if that wasn’t good enough people can feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that they are also helping the Salvation Army at the same time. All exchanged denim will be donated in-store for resale and a selection of new products from Wrangler will be distributed throughout the Salvation Army’s youth network so the clothes go to those that will really appreciate a new piece of denim and might not be able to afford it.

To celebrate the initiative we’ve curated a denim themed mixtape feature songs about or that pay tribute to the humble jean. Follow @wrangleraustralia, @sugarmountainfestival and #SM16 for all the info or visit www.sugarmountainfestival.com.
