Frenzal Rhomb are set to celebrate 25 years as one of Australia’s most beloved bands by “repackaging a bunch of their old songs into a BRAND NEW RECORD, and then taking it on the road!” Their words, not ours.
“Turning 25 is the best,” the band write. “You’ve finished uni, married the opposite-sex partner of your dreams, and now Dad & Mum are gonna help you buy that second investment property in Waterloo once the housing commission flats finally get bulldozed. It’s a fun age.”
Best of all, each show on the band’s upcoming tour celebrating the release of We Lived Like Kings (We Did Anything We Wanted) will be by-request, so fans get to pick the setlist the band play each night.
The band have now unveiled a voting platform for fans to cast their vote. “Everything we’ve ever released is there. Album tracks, covers, secret tracks, b-sides, c-sides, d-sides (that’s both sides of SYM),” they write.
“If something’s missing, tell us! It’s not our fault, we’re old. You can vote for ten songs, coz we reckon that’s probably how many good songs we’ve got.” You can check out the voting site for yourself right here.
“We’ll leave it up for a few weeks, make sure you share this and let your mates know the polls are open,” the band add. “You can only vote once, although I’m sure you computer haxxors will know a way around that, have yourselves a ball.”
