We’ve covered our share of touring mixups and even outright disasters here at Tone Deaf, but few have quite the charm of Emma Louise’s recent attempt at a Los Angeles gig.
As The Music Network reports, the Melbourne-based singer and songwriter headed up to Sydney to make for LA but had to fly back to Melbourne after she realised she’d forgotten her passport.
After finally retrieving her passport, which bear in mind involved a plane trip back to Melbourne, Louise made her way over to the States only to be told she had the wrong visa.
According to The Music Network, the singer was held in a holding cell for eight hours as she waited to be sent back to Australia, a la Border Security: Australia’s Front Line.
Eventually, authorities let her into the country, however she was not allowed to play any shows. Louise, not wanting to squander the opportunity, went clothes shopping instead.
Louise unveiled her acclaimed sophomore album, Supercry, last month. It was a triple j Feature Album upon release and debuted at #14 on the ARIA Albums chart.
She’ll be embarking on a 13-date national tour this October / November. Check below for details.
