If you checked your Facebook page last night, and found a message from artist Ben Lee asking you to help him pick up a suitcase stuffed with currency, well you can put down the gloves and the ski-mask, because Lee has confirmed it was all a hoax – and that he isn’t at all mixed up in something this shady.
The messages were apparently sent by a fake Ben Lee page which has since been shut down by Facebook. Fake Ben asked for help picking up the suitcase, which — despite the bounty within — “I don’t have time to deal with.”
As Lee wrote this morning on his very real Facebook page, “For future reference, I guarantee you I would make time to pick up any briefcase with $300k in it.”
