We’re all for unique performances spaces, but this weekend’s sets from Briggs and Trials (along with the rest of their Bad Apples Music signees) are definitely up there, seeing them roaming around Melbourne to play sets from the back of a truck.
Pretty much acting as a musical Mr. Whippy van, the Bad Apples team are roaming the city all day this Saturday the 13th as part of the Yirramboi First Nations Arts Festival, which kicked off on the 5th and runs until the 14th.
Better yet, all four gigs are all ages and free, so there’s nothing to stop you from following the traveling circus across the city all day and having a mini-festival experience on a budget. In fact, that’s the whole point, as there’s also a walking tour through the city – ‘Barring Yanabul’ (we all walk the path).
“Explore the beautiful Blak heart of Melbourne in a day-long city-wide treasure hunt of fun, provocative, experimental and interactive arts and culture that will surprise, unite and inspire,” the festival explains. “Grab a map to guide you to First Nations artists filling the streets, laneways, hidden places and secret spaces of the world’s most liveable city.”
