New reports have revealed by the British Security Service, M15 show that the UK police ‘misinterpreted intelligence’ about the suicide bomber, Salman Abedi that could’ve potentially prevented the attack that occurred on May 22nd.
The report details how, “On two separate occasions in the months prior to the attack, intelligence was received by MI5 whose significance was not fully appreciated at the time” and also denotes that Abedi was a “subject of interest” to British police months prior to the attack. Included are also details about Abedi’s that were overlooked, including his past dealings in theft, receiving stolen goods, assault and indirect communication with a member of the Islamic State.
“It is conceivable that the Manchester attack, in particular, might have been averted had the cards fallen differently.” says the report.
