Melbourne’s Diana Radar have been on the scene for a few years now, playing countless shows since first forming back in 2014. Now, following a twelve month hiatus and a bit of a lineup change, the band have dropped the video for their newest single, ‘Sex Sells’.

Having spent the last year writing and recording an album’s worth of tunes at their Carlton share house and at Richmond’s Bakehouse Studios (where they had formed only a few years prior), the group are now unleashing ‘Sex Sells’.

An intense number, ‘Sex Sells’ sees Diana Radar continuing to do what they do best, delivering a mixture of garage rock and proto-punk, while not neglecting the emotion that makes a tune like this stand out from the crowd.

The group’s new songs, which we’re hoping to see released on an album or EP sometime quite soon, saw Diana Radar work in a number of locations, including an aunt’s beach house in Anglesea, and Richmond’s legendary Sing Sing Studios.

Engineered by Lachlan Wooden (Primary Colours, Archie Roach), and mastered by Mikey Young (Total Control, Eddy Current Suppression Ring), ‘Sex Sells’ sees the band at their raucous best. Backed with a dark, immersive performance video, Diana Radar enlisted the help of Melbourne music photographer Jay Hynes to showcase the group in their Carlton share house, inviting the viewer into the location where their collective musical talents have been ever-evolving.

Diana Radar are set to make a return to the live stage later this month when they hit up The Grace Darling on February 23rd. Supported by Dragoons and Juice Webster, this upcoming show is set to be your first chance for the year to see the group in their element – the live stage.
