Australian metal acts Cursed Earth and Alpha Wolf have pulled out of their slot at Melbourne’s Download Festival in March.
The band performed without their frontwoman, Jazmin Luders at Unify Gathering in January, however, have now revealed that they are “currently without a vocalist”.
The band have taken to Facebook to release an official statement regarding their decision.
“At this stage we have chosen to withdraw from Download Australia. We are currently without a vocalist and as such, unable to perform to the best of our ability.”
“Statement regarding our vocalist to come over the next few days, we appreciate your patience in this matter. We sincerely apologize to anybody that was hoping to see us and we’ll be doing everything we can to make it up later in 2018”
This comes after a slew of allegations were made against Luders over social media.
Alpha Wolf also took to Facebook to announce their removal, as well as the removal of their vocalist Aidan Ellaz.
“Due to the severity of yesterday’s allegations, we have decided it is best for all parties involved for us to not appear at any of our upcoming shows. This includes both Download Festival and The Mortal Coil tour with Polaris.”
“We have also decided to part ways with our vocalist Aidan Ellaz.”
“We’ll each be taking some time off to process everything that has occurred in the past 24 hours and we wish that our decisions can be respected.”
Download Festival have taken to Facebook to acknowledge the two band’s decisions.
“We have been notified this morning that Alpha Wolf and Cursed Earth will be withdrawing from Download Melbourne 2018. We will be announcing replacements in the coming days. Download Melbourne does not condone any form of violence, abuse or harassment.”
