In a recent interview with The Chicago Tribune, Chance The Rapper confirmed he has new music coming out this week ahead of his headlining performance at the Special Olympics 50th Anniversary Concert. He also confirmed he is working on a seperate release with Kanye West.

The multiple Grammy award winner released his last album Colouring Book in 2016. It streamed exclusively on Apple Music for two weeks before being released for free on all other services. The unsigned artist is the first person to win a Grammy with an album that was only available on streaming services.
In the new interview, Chance confirms he will be releasing an album this week, telling the Chicago Tribune “It’s going to come out just in time for the Special Olympics.” He also discussed the challenges of working with signed artists when he is not represented by a label; “The bigger concern for artists now is navigating the legal issues of owning your music, your publishing, your distribution. It has been difficult for me to release music with artists who work with the majors.”
There was no update on the long awaited collaboration between Chance and Childish Gambino in the interview, however he did talk about his project with Kanye West. “I don’t know of a timeline on it yet, the trajectory of it, but he’s coming here to work on it some more.” he explained. A few songs were made when West was working on his Jackson Hole project.
The rapper confirmed there is no set timeline for the project yet. Because it involves Kanye, that’s probably a good thing because West Isn’t the best at sticking to release dates and timelines.
Whilst no actual date has been set for Chance The Rapper’s upcoming album, it looks like it’ll be out in the coming days. Chance headlines the Special Olympics 50th Anniversary Concert in Chicago on Saturday night.
