It looks as though Kanye West could be the next celebrity to visit North Korea if famed NBA player Dennis Rodman has his way.

Over the last few years, the world has looked on with confusion and wonder as former professional basketball player Dennis Rodman has regaled us with tales of his frequent trips to North Korea.

Usually the travel habits of one of the NBA’s bad boys wouldn’t be that much of a story in itself, but considering that the famously outgoing sportsman has actually made friends with President Kim Jong Un in the process, well that’s something else entirely.

Having referred to Kim Jon Un as a “friend for life”, many have begun to wonder whether Rodman’s trip to the country is based on his own curiosity and desire to visit the location, or whether there may be something a bit more political going on. Whatever the case, plenty of us have chalked it up to well, Dennis Rodman just being Dennis Rodman.

Now however, Rodman has revealed that he’d love to take a travel buddy with him on his next trip – Kanye West.

As US Weekly reports, Kanye West recently cited Rodman as one of his “biggest inspirations“, leading the retired basketballer to reveal he has plans of visiting North Korea with West in the future.

“Kanye, he’s doing amazing work around the world so I respect him,” explained Rodman. “So hopefully one day we’ll get together and collaborate on certain things. Guess what, I’ll take Kanye West to North Korea with me.”

“Matter of fact, I’m going to invite him next time I go to North Korea,” he continued. “If the door’s open in September, I will invite Kanye West with me to go to North Korea with me.”

“If he wants to make an album about that he’ll be there for like six to seven days, and he’ll see what’s going on. Now, go make a song about this. So here you go.”

Considering Kanye West’s love of Kim Jong Un’s new bestie Donald Trump, it looks as though the diplomatic team of West and Rodman could result in not only one of the biggest hip-hop albums of the year, but it also has the potential to be the peace-keeping mission we’ve been waiting for.

But until Kanye West has his bag packed and his passport stamped, we might need to wait and see what will actually happen.
