Even rock icons manage to stumble sometimes, but it takes a rock God to recover as smoothly as Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson did while performing in England recently.

Performing in Manchester on Monday night (the day before frontman Bruce Dickinson’s 60th birthday), Iron Maiden were playing one of the final shows of their current tour when Dickinson took a tumble.

While halfway through the group’s 1984 single ‘2 Minutes To Midnight’, Dickinson attempted to step down from a stage amplifier when he appeared to lose his footing, stumbling to the edge of the stage and undoubtedly getting up close and personal with fans.

However, proving his worth as one of the music world’s most beloved frontmen, Dickinson manages to pull himself up and continue singing, all without missing a beat. The bloke definitely is a trooper, that’s for sure.

This on-stage incident happens to come at a time when Iron Maiden have been spending quite a bit of time in the news. While the group managed to settle a lawsuit a few months back over allegedly having stolen lyrics to one of their songs, they’ve since been hit with another, which they’ve dismissed as being “absolutely ridiculous“.

On the other side of things, Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris has expressed his confidence that the group will probably record at least one more album in the future.

“We’ve got this cycle going on,” Harris explained. “I’m pretty damn sure we will do another album, and then all well and good, we’ll go out on tour to back that up.”

“How long that will go on for, I don’t know. We’ve been talking about this kind of thing for the last 20 years, but as time goes on, it becomes more of a reality that one day we may not be able to tour any more.”

“But I don’t want to think about that. You’ve got to enjoy the moment.”

While Iron Maiden currently haven’t got any big tour dates for Australia up their sleeve, Bruce Dickinson will be hitting up Australia in a couple of months for a series of spoken word dates in support of his autobiography, What Does This Button Do?.
