Scottish shoegaze legends The Jesus and Mary Chain have confirmed that they are working on a new album. The as yet untitled project is a follow up from 2017’s Damage and Joy — The first album the band had released in nineteen years.
In an interview with COS frontman Jim Reid confirmed that the band will hit the studio when their tour with Nine Inch Nails wraps up; “We’re thinking of doing a new album soon after this tour, I reckon that will be the next thing we do.”
Once the Cold and Black and Infinite tour closes the band will be getting straight into it, stating ““We work best with a deadline because we are the laziest people you can imagine,”.
The upcoming album will reportedly consist of “mostly new” song but will also feature “some songs we’ve had knocking about for awhile”.
