20. Odette

Having recently stunned the world of Aussie music with the release of her debut album, To A Stranger, Odette has been scoring plenty of love from the music-loving public. With ‘Lights Out’ currently the thirteenth most-played track on the station this week, 2018 is shaping up become a pretty huge year for the Sydney muso.

19. Jungle

It’s been four years in the wilderness for Jungle, but the English collective finally returned to the airwaves earlier this year with the release of a couple of new singles. With ‘Heavy, California’ currently this week’s 15th most-played track, you can be certain you’ll hear more of Jungle when their new album drops next month.

18. BROCKHAMPTON

BROCKHAMPTON are gearing up to release their new album, Iridescence, next month. Having already released a couple of year-themed tracks, including ‘1999 Wildfire’ and ‘1998 Truman’, fans have been digging these new ones enough to see the former score the honour of being named this week’s eleventh most-played track.

17. D.R.A.M.

D.R.A.M. has been on the scene for plenty of time now, but as the years pass us by, his profile just continues to rise. Having released his most recent mixtape, That’s A Girls Name, last month, D.R.A.M.’s ‘WWYD?’ has been getting plenty of love, serving as this week’s tenth most-played track.

16. Gretta Ray

Gretta Ray recently dropped her most recent EP, Here And Now, and triple j listeners have been loving it. Another stunning collection of tunes from the Unearthed High alumni, the lead single ‘Radio Silence’ has ironically been getting enough airplay to score it the position of this week’s ninth most-played track.

15. Bring Me The Horizon

Bring Me The Horizon dropped their newest song, ‘Mantra’ last week, and fans have been going wild over the group’s return. With their new album, amo, set to drop in January and an Australian tour also on the way, the group currently have this week’s twelfth most-played track, and you can expect to only see them go higher.

14. E^ST

E^ST has been absolutely knocking it out of the park lately, signing with US alt-rock label Fueled By Ramen and releasing the stunning ‘I Don’t Lack Imagination’, which is currently this week’s eighth most-played track. Having had an amazing few months, we’re completely excited to see what the future holds for this brilliant musician.

13. KIAN

After KIAN took out the 2018 edition of Unearthed High earlier this month, you can be certain that you’re witnessing the start of an absolutely stunning musical career. With ‘Waiting’ currently this week’s seventh most-played track, the future is looking incredibly bright for this young musician.

12. Matt Corby

Matt Corby has recently dropped his newest song, ‘No Ordinary Life’, and it’s a much-welcome return for the Aussie indie legend. Described as being ‘Willy Wonka-esque’, the track has been getting plenty of airtime, being ranked as this week’s sixth most-played song.

11. Courtney Barnett

When Courtney Barnett released Tell Me How You Really Feel earlier this month, fans could tell that this year was going to be a big one for this stunning musician. With Courtney recently wrapping up a long-awaited Aussie tour, her tunes have been getting plenty of airplay on triple j, and we can’t complain one bit!

10. Bishop Briggs

Bishop Briggs’ debut album, Church Of Scars, was only released back in April, but that hasn’t stopped this stunning musician from delivering the goods once again. With new single ‘Baby’ currently this week’s fifth most-played track, you can be sure you’ll be hearing plenty more of Bishop Briggs in the coming weeks.

9. Running Touch

It feels like only yesterday that Running Touch burst onto the airwaves with his stunning tunes, but in between serving as a member of Ocean Grove and being an amazing producer, we recently managed to receive his latest track, ‘My Hands’. Currently the fourth most-played track on the station this week, you can expect to hear plenty more from this brilliant artist in the future.

8. Broods

It’s been a couple of years since we last heard new music from New Zealand’s brother-and-sister duo Broods, but that hasn’t stopped the group from putting together some of the finest tunes you’ll hear all year. With their new record, Don’t Feed the Pop Monster, on its way in early 2019, lead single ‘Peach’ has been doing the rounds enough to be this week’s third most-played track.

7. Wafia

Everything we’ve ever heard from Wafia has turned out to be a piece of pure perfection, and her latest track is no exception. Titled ‘I’m Good’, it’s not only the second most-played track on triple j this week, but another sign of brilliance to come from this stunning muso.

6. Trophy Eyes

Trophy Eyes recently dropped their triple j feature album, The American Dream, and triple j listeners haven’t been able to get enough of the group’s blistering jams, pounding rhythms, and stunning vocals. With tracks such as ‘Friday Forever’ still doing the rounds and serving as this week’s 14th most-played track, you can count on the fact that Trophy Eyes are well on track to score a well-deserved spot in this year’s Hottest 100.

5. RÜFÜS DU SOL

Having recently changed their name to Rüfüs Du Sol for good, the trio have been gearing up to release their upcoming record, SOLACE. While we’ve already heard a handful of new tracks from the record, newest single ‘Underwater’ has proven to be another winner for the group, becoming this week’s most-played track.

4. Mac Miller

Two years on from 2016’s The Divine Feminine, Mac Miller released his latest album, Swimming, earlier this month to critical acclaim. With tracks like ‘What’s The Use?’ and ‘Self Care’ having been doing the rounds in recent months, you can be sure that this is set to be another contender for album of the year.

3. Khalid

Khalid might only be 20, but that hasn’t stopped this talented musician from bloody everywhere on the airwaves over the last year! With tracks like ‘lovely’ with Billie Eillish, and ‘Eastside’ (his collaboration with Benny Blanco and Halsey) doing the rounds, it’s hardly any surprise that Khalid is already at work on a brand new album. Get ready to hear plenty more of him in the near future!

2. Amy Shark

After plenty of excitement and a slew of stunning singles, Amy Shark recently released her debut album, Love Monster, to plenty of critical acclaim. Having scored a spot as triple j’s feature album and a #1 debut on the ARIA charts, Amy Shark is undoubtedly on top of the world right now. With ‘All Loved Up’ scoring the honour of being last week’s thirteenth most-played track, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be hearing plenty more from Amy Shark in the future.

1. LAUREL

LAUREL’s debut album, DOGVIOLET, recently served as triple j’s feature album, and it’s incredibly easy to see why. A stunning piece of indie pop, this English muso has been on the scene for a few years now, but is set to keep on rising in the coming months and years thanks to her powerful tunes.

With tracks like ‘Lovesick’ having been doing the rounds on the airwaves lately, you can be certain that you’ll be hearing plenty more from LAUREL in the lead-up to this year’s Hottest 100.
