Steven Adler, Guns N’ Roses hell raising first drummer who was kicked out of the band on the eve of the release of the Use Your Illusion albums in 1991 to address ‘substance abuse issues’ has been talking to god on Axl Rose’s behalf. Adler has spent many years dealing with drug and booze addiction and now that he’s clean and sober, he’s apparently having words with the man upstairs. See, it seems that all those years of abuse have taken their toll on his mental faculties, because he reckons his chats with God will not only make Axl turn up to gigs on time, but he’ll also get the original line up together.

Adler says: “I put prayers in with Jesus and God all the time, ‘please just go talk to Axl.’ I say. I love the stuff we did together in my heart and my soul. It needs to be taken out of the shell and put back in the world. Two generations of people have already missed it. I think it’s unfair. I love those five guys — they mean more to me than anyone except my grandmother and my dogs. But there was so much fighting all the time (in GN’R), but like my grandpa said, time heals all wounds. My wounds are healed.” Dream on Steve, no nuclear weapon could destroy that ego.
