Last year, A Perfect Circle infamously established a no-phone policy on their tour to prevent fans from filming and photographing the shows. It was reported that a few unlucky punters were kicked out of shows on the bands 2017 tour for taking pictures. Apparently, around 60 people were kicked out of one gig in Reading, Pennsylvania – which is an incontestable dog act.

However, last night during the bands’ gig in West Valley, Utah. Frontman Maynard James Keenan surprised fans by allowing them to whip out their phones to record their last track “Delicious” as “a present from grandpa”.

As Consequence of Sound notes, in a 2017 interview, guitarist Billy Howerdel explained” “We have a no-phone policy at our show. First of all, it’s just rude. Putting up a phone in front of someone’s face so they get to watch the show through it? Getting a memento of the show — sure, I’ve done it myself. But then you ask, ‘What am I gonna do with this?’”

This rare opportunity was taken advantage of by hoards of fans. Check out some of the enthusiastic Instagram posts below.
