This is Tom Morello’s personal criteria for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and KISS undoubtedly have all three.
From consecutive broken records, to a plethora of legendary artists in their own right crediting them as an inspiration, expressing KISS’ impact in terms that do them justice is a difficult task. Yet, Tom Morello has done just that with his passionate speech at KISS’ induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
KISS’ influence extends across a range of artists and genres, inspiring the likes of Slipknot, Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails with their music, antics and theatrics.
Their popularity is undeniable, selling over 100 million albums worldwide and achieving 28 #1 albums in the US, despite being the ire of critics and self-righteous music nerds alike.
