Skrillex is being sued $1.6 million in damages by Jennifer Fraissi, who was injured at a 2012 concert at Los Angeles’ Belasco Theater.
According to the original complaint launched in 2014, Skrillex attempted to stage dive off his DJ deck that was several feet above the stage. Before diving he asked the crowd to move forward, trapping Fraissl so that she couldn’t avoid being hit by Skrillex. As a result. The lawsuit claims, “Due to the aforementioned conduct, Plaintiff was struck by MOORE and such unwelcome contact was a substantial factor in Plaintiff incurring significant injuries and damages, including, but not limited to, a stroke.”
Fraissl has been awarded a total of $4,525,402. She is receiving $1.6 million from Moore, 1.8 million from his touring company Lost Boys and $450,000 from Belasco Theatre.
Moore has been extremely sympathetic towards the situation, telling TMZ “There is nothing more important to me than my fans and their safety at my shows — I want them to have fun and enjoy the music.”
