Another week has passed, and triple j have spent it doing what they do best – delivering endless hit tunes by a wide variety of brilliant artists from both here and abroad. Of course, with so many songs being played in a week, it can get pretty tough to know the artists that have been the most popular.

That’s where we come in. Thanks to our friends over at J Play, we’ve compiled a list of the most-played acts for the week so you can put a name to those tunes you’ve been hearing all week. Who knows, you might just discover a new favourite thanks to this list.

triple j’s most-played artists for the week

20. Petit Biscuit

French producer Petit Biscuit is only 19, but has had a pretty wild year, releasing his debut album at the end of 2017. Having recently performed an amazing Like A Version in October, and releasing a few new singles over the last couple of months, it’s no surprise he’s in the list of most-played acts again.

19. Post Malone & Swae Lee

Post Malone had already had a stellar couple of years, so it’s only understandable that a new track would see some major success. Titled ‘Sunflower’, this collab with Swae Lee was released on the soundtrack for the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and is currently this week’s eleventh most-played track.

18. Matt Corby

Matt Corby has been dropping singles left and right in support of his latest record, Rainbow Valley. With tracks like ‘No Ordinary Life’ scoring plenty of airplay, latest single ‘All That I See’ is currently the tenth most-played track on the airwaves this week. Keep an eye out, because this one will be hanging around for a while.

17. The Wombats

Honorary Aussies The Wombats are in the middle of yet another Australian tour as we speak, and their tunes have been tearing up the airwaves as always. With tracks like ‘Bee Sting’ and ‘Oceans’ from the expanded edition of Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life doing the rounds, the latter is currently this week’s ninth most-played track.

16. Juice WRLD

Already heading our way for Falls Festival over the new year, Juice WRLD has been taking over the world with his fresh new sound. Latest single ‘Armed And Dangerous’ has been taking over the airwaves recently though, scoring enough love to see it become the eighth most-played track this week.

Having been around for eight years now, Flint Eastwood have been steadily rising their profile for quite some time, delivering amazing tunes, and touring relentlessly around the world. Having scored plenty of attention with their single ‘Real Love’ earlier this year, latest single ‘Chapter 4 Sober (feat. Shortly)’ has been well-received, currently serving as this week’s 14th most-played track.

13. Montaigne

Montaigne recently returned with her first new tune in two years, and fans have been loving this long-awaited jam. Titled ‘For Your Love’, it’s described by this amazing musician as being “darker” and “more revealing”, but listeners have loved it enough for the track to become this week’s fifth most-played song.

12. GLADES

GLADES have been blowing up over the last year, seeing massive success thanks to their wide array of brilliant tunes. With ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ scoring plenty of airplay this week, and the band performing an amazing Like A Version performance of Silverchair, you can be sure we’ll be hearing plenty more of them in the future!

9. Flight Facilities

Flight Facilities are one of those duos who make this whole music thing look easy as pie. With tunes like ‘Need You’ and ‘All Your Love’ making their appearance this year, we’re hoping these Sydney tunemasters will be dropping a new album sometime soon.

8. Stand Atlantic

Sydney trio Stand Atlantic have been ticking all the boxes lately, releasing brilliant pop-punk tunes that have been resonating with their rapidly-growing fanbase. 3. Middle Kids

Middle Kids are still riding high off the success of their J Award-winning debut album, Lost Friends, earlier this year, but they’re already looking to the future, gearing up to release a new EP in 2019. With ‘Salt Eyes’, the title track, currently this week’s 17th most-played tune, it’s time to start counting down the days for new Middle Kids tunes.
