Last week, musician and YouTuber Poppy accused Grimes of “bullying” in an interview with Billboard. Poppy has claimed that her collaboration with Grimes on the track “Play Destroy” sparked tension between the two artists.
In the interview Poppy claims that she was “bullied into submission by [Grimes] and her team of self-proclaimed feminists.” Poppy has accused Grimes of “preventing” the collaborative track from being released, “I got to watch her bully songwriters into signing NDA[s] and not taking credit for songs that they were a part of. She doesn’t practice what she preaches.”
Grimes has since responded to the accusations of bullying. Taking to Instagram, Grimes posted a note reading “Poppy, you dragged me into a disgusting situation. I don’t want to work with you, you leaked the song anyway. U got what you want. Let it go.” This post has since been deleted but you can see a screenshot below:
