Tobias Forge of Ghost has revealed when the mysterious modern rock demons plan to release new music. This year, the theatrical classic rock trailblazers released the critically acclaimed Prequelle, however, fans of the band are still hungry for new material.
In a new interview with Loudwire, Forge (or more formally known as Cardinal Copia), has revealed that the band won’t be putting out any new material until 2020.
The high priest noted that the band’s hectic touring schedule is the reasoning behind the hold up for new material, saying “From our perspective, at least, 2019 is already over. That year is already done.”
“That doesn’t limit me from writing or starting the steps, but when it comes to having a consecutive three month’s studio time, there is no such time in 2019. That will happen, probably, spring 2020. Then you have to add like three months of waiting between recording and releasing.”

Part of Ghost’s intense touring schedule will include a trip to Australia for the second ever installment of Download Festival, which will mark the band’s first trip down under since Big Day Out 2014.
Forge recently hit back at a US Pastor from Texas who protested the band’s music due to its “Satanic” nature, noting that the Pastor was “ill-informed” over the band’s ideology.
“I mean, they’re right [about Ghost being a satanic band],” Forge said to Loudwire. “I think that a lot of these people – I obviously have never met these people; I’ve spent very little time, I’ve read basically the same news piece that everybody else read – and [Pastor Larry Long] is obviously poorly informed about what we’re doing.”
