For the first time in its history as a joke of an awards ceremony, you, the punter can now vote for your favourite act in several new Australian Recording Industry Association awards.
Previously, only cocaine addled record label execs and so on got to vote, but now you can vote for Most Popular Australian Single, Most Popular Australian Album, Most Popular International Artist and Most Popular Australian Artist. Most Popular Australian Single, Album and International Artist were selected based on the top selling singles and albums from August 28, 2009 to August 21, 2010.
The nominees for Most Popular Australian Artist category are derived from the finalists in 26 categories for this year’s awards. Most of the nominations are the usual commercial dross, so here’s your chance to tell ARIA what you think!
