Record Store Day is back for its 12th year, and boy, have they made it a big one!
The Australian Music Retailers Association (AMRA) has put together one mighty fine program for its 2019 installment. From limited edition vinyl and merch, to in-store performances & meet and greets, they’ve got it all covered this year.
Some stores will stocking limited edition vinyls from artists including Tash Sultana, Hockey Dad, Bob Evans and Courtney Barnett.
Here’s what’s going down at stores across the country:
Melbourne:
- Cookin’ on 3 Burners will be hitting up four record stores throughout the day as part of their Funk Crawl. Catch them at Greville Records, Prahran from 11am. They’ll then venture into the CBD to visit Rocksteady Records, not long before they travel to Brunswick’s Record Paradise. Lastly, they’ll journey on to Northside Records in Fitzroy. They’re also bringing a very special guest, Melbourne singer, Stella Angelico, to their last two appearances.
- Greville Street Records will have live music pumping from 11:00am-6:00pm.
- Bob Evans will be hitting up Record Paradise in Brunswick
Byron Bay:
- The Soul Movers will be appearing at Byron Bay music staple Howl & Moan.
Sydney:
- Stuart Coupe and Glenn A Baker will be hanging out at RPM Records Marrickville.
Perth:
- MYTHS and Tanaya Harper will be chilling at Rubarb Records.
Gold Coast:
- AJ from Gold FM/Sea FM will be spinning wax from 7:00am-11:00am at Atlantis Music.
Brisbane:
- It’s all happening at Rocksteady Records. There’ll be music all afternoon from Remy Bocalatte, Halfway, Tape/Off, Dumb Things and Gooby Jim & The Goobs.
