With just under a month to go until Australia’s favourite festival, the Splendour In The Grass team today announce its 2019 comedy, science and forum program.
Each year, Splendour ticks all the boxes – top-notch music, comedy, and science forums, leaving us with an entire banquet of knowledge and in a wholesome state. This year, things are no different, with the Byron festival bringing back some festival favourites, and some newbies too.
The comedy lineup boasts none other than ex-triple j personality Matt Okine, Gen Fricker, Aaron Gocs, Jess Perkins and Luke McGregor.
Meanwhile, the ever-loved festival has announced a science tent like no other. A deep investigation into the science behind the popular shoey will go down in the tent, led by Fizzics Education.
Popular triple j presenter and doctor, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki will be asking all the important life questions. Is A2 milk a con? Are humans actually just 91% frozen energy? Who knows?
The real talking point at Splendour, however, will be its specially curated forums – set to dive deep into issues affecting us all. A special panel, dubbed TREATY, will be tasked with establishing an inclusive and empowering way forward around Indigenous Australians. Comprised of DRMNGNOW, Lala Bayles and other key Indigenous Australian figures, this session will be the first of its kind at Splendour.
SBS The Feed presenter Marc Fennell will interview four iconic Australian figures live on stage. This year, he’ll interview Adelaide-turned-Melbourne rapper Allday, Courtney Barnett and Jacob Banks. Oh, and ol’ mate Will Connolly [Egg Boy].
