Fresh off the release of her stunning seventh record, Lover, Taylor Swift has graced BBC Radio 1’s ‘Live Lounge’.

Swift took to the studio to deliver several performances of tracks from the new record, ‘London Boy,’ ‘Lover,’ ‘The Archer,’ and ‘You Need to Calm Down.’ As well as debuting these new tracks, Swift performed Red deep cut ‘Holy Ground’ and a cover of Phil Collins 2002 rework of ‘Can’t Stop Loving You.’

Swift prefaced her performance by explaining why she decided to cover the track.

“The type of love that this song sings about is unconditional love,” she explained. “I think true, unconditional love is like, do you love someone so much that you would even love them if they didn’t love you anymore? That’s what this song sings about. It’s literally the most sad, beautiful song ever.”

Lover debuted at No.1 on the Billboard album chart. The release was the biggest week for any record since Swift’s last album, 2017’s reputation. The record earned a whopping 867,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 29.

‘It’s Nice to Have a Friend’, a cut from Swift’s new record, is helping fund a school in Toronto. The track features a sample of Regent Park School of Music’s youth choir — and the royalties made from the track are set to fund the school’s youth program. You can listen to the song below.

In other news, last month one mastermind fan created an epic mash-up of Taylor Swift’s ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ with Tool’s ‘Stinkfist.’ The remix transforms Taylor Swift’s slice of pop perfection into a prog-metal masterpiece. It’s truly something to witness, you can check it out right here.
