Skateistan, the award-winning international non-profit organisation which combines arts-based education with skateboarding in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa, has teamed up with charity initiative Tone For Change.
The collaboration is a first for Tone For Change, which gives visibility to global issues and donates 100% of profits from pedal sales. The initiative was co-founded by David Karon, who is best known for his work with Kirk Hammett on KHDK Electronics.
Now, as the brand’s first 100% pro-charity project, Tone For Change has created a limited edition “Skateistan” fuzz guitar pedal, which comes in a one-of-a-kind enclosure made from skateboards used by students in Skateistan’s Skate Schools in Afghanistan.
All profits from the sale of the pedal go to Skateistan’s Skate Schools in Cambodia, South Africa and Afghanistan, and have over 2,500 active students, half of which are girls.

Not only was the pedal inspired by skateboarding subculture, the skateboards used for the pedals’ unique enclosures come from Skateistan’s Skate Schools in Afghanistan.
The pedal’s controls let guitarists experiment and make the tone their own, with mosfet stage for tube-like warmth. Think grunge-rock tones: toothy, fuzzy, sharp and dry.
