Dustin Schoenhofer, the drummer for US metalcore outfit Walls Of Jericho has found himself in a bit of trouble, being arrested last week for transporting over 286 kilograms of marijuana.

Ask anyone and they’ll likely tell you that stories of musicians and drug use are inextricably linked. In fact, some of the most famous rockstar tales of the ’70s involve a little bit of the devil’s lettuce.

In fact, these stories have become so well-known that numerous articles exist online about the times musicians were busted with some of the chronic in their possession. Often though, these quantities are minimal, with stories like Paul McCartney’s 1980 arrest in Japan for having half a pound of leaf being something of an outlier.

However, it seems that one musician has taken things to the extreme, with US news station KTVZ reporting that Walls Of Jericho drummer Dustin Schoenhofer was arrested with over 286 kilograms of marijuana in his possession late last week.

According to the report, Schoenhofer has been charged with unlawful marijuana trafficking and possession after Oregon State officials discovered 632 pounds (286 kg) of marijuana and 36 pounds (16 kg) of marijuana extract in the rear bed of his vehicle.

Police reportedly pulled the 41-year-old musician over on Thursday after he was said to be driving 57 mph in a 35 mph zone, which breaks the classic rule of, ‘if you’re already breaking one law, don’t break another’.

However, after the state trooper detected a strong smell of marijuana, a search uncovered the 286 kg of marijuana packed into 21 bales, and 36 pounds of suspected butane honey oil extract in the rear of his vehicle, which police say were bound for his home state of Ohio.

“The driver stated he was going to Ohio with the truck but didn’t know the marijuana was in the back of it,” the arresting officer wrote in his report.

At the current time, Dustin Schoenhofer is being held on a $45,000 bail, and his bandmates have made no public statement in regards to his arrest or what it means for the future of the band.
