Toli Wild have released a deathcore cover of Billie Eilish hit ‘Bad Guy’, and our vocal cords are hurting just watching it.
It goes without saying that ‘Bad Guy’ was a smash. Everyone across the globe was humming along to this infectious pop tune until it eventually became just a little grating. However, whenever there is a good thing that emerges in this world, you can expect a metal version of it to appear soon after. It appears we are now in that soon after stage thanks to Toli Wild.
This deathcore take on ‘Bad Guy’, which surfaced on the bands YouTube channel, uses delayed guitar effects to give off a whole new feel to the original, which was more focused on sounding poppy as hell. Beats and synths are out the window here, and distorted guitar comes in with some sick drum play to make this an undeniably talented cover.
Now you can all take your love for ‘Bad Guy’ and channel it in the mosh, punching throats to an entirely different pace of the song, where the title suddenly makes a whole lot more sense.
Billie Eilish would definitely be proud of this cover, being the fan of rock and metal that she is. Perhaps that is why metalheads have flocked to defend the 17-year-old artist at any chance they get, as she is essentially one of their own. She has death metal logo beanies and collaborates with the coolest people across all genres. Really, she’s the avatar to save us from the genre wars, but that is a whole other story. For now, let’s just dig into this sick cover from Toli Wild, and show them some love for this incredible adaptation of a tune we love.
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, this cover IS available on Spotify, so now you can blast it over your office speakers with ease.
