Last month, the world was rattled with news that the mighty Rage Against The Machine beast had awoken from hibernation to reunite for a slew of shows in 2020.
The band are set to play their first live shows in 2011 around the US/Mexico border before they descend on Coachella in California for their third headline appearance at the festival. It looks as though Coachella won’t be the only festival the seminal act will be bringing their political punk chops to. Rage might’ve let slip that a headliner set at Byron Bay’s Splendour In the Grass is imminent.

A since-deleted post on social media has revealed that the band have Australian tour plans scheduled for July next year. The tour poster has revealed that the band are set to play Byron Bay on July 18th, which is around the time Splendour In The Grass falls. In addition to the Byron date, the band will play a show at Melbourne on July 23rd.
The poster was shared on socials at around 11:40 pm last night and deleted immediately after.
The 2020 instalment of Splendour In The Grass will mark the festival’s 20th year, a headlining set of this eminence only makes sense. You can satiate your Rage rumours below with an extremely low-quality screenshot.
In related news, RZA recently revealed that he would be keen to link up with Rage Against The Machine on a tour with Wu Tang Clan. In 1997, the two acts toured together on a headline run across the US. Ultimately, Wu Tang Clan were kicked off the bill in favour of The Roots, but perhaps 2020 is the year the fabled tour comes into fruition.

“It’s a great thing for Rage to reunite,” RZA told TMZ. “Tom and Zach getting back together [for] Coachella. It’s going to be exciting.
“If the stars line up right, I would love to see [them] – when they finish that Coachella run – to hook up with Wu-Tang and finish that tour we never finished. I would love to do that.
