Yep, that’s right kids. You don’t even need to be alive to release albums these days. Michael Jackson is about to release an album from beyond the grave. The album, to be entitled Michael, is due for release by Sony in the UK of December 14th – conveniently in time for the Christmas Rush.
The album contains unreleased Jackson recordings, which Sony will no doubt be hoping they can earn a lot of dosh from to recoup the $250-odd million they forked out to his estate for rights to exploit his legacy to kingdom come. It’s unclear as to whether the ‘new material’ will actually be new. A track, ‘This Is It’ leaked online last year but turned out to have been recorded in 1983.
A new song ‘Breaking News’ will stream for a week as of today at www.michaeljackson.com, however, his eldest kids have questioned whether it is really their father singing on the tracks. If anything, he’s the ultimate celebrity – releasing album and causing controversy from beyond the grave.
