If you’re eager to have some good old-fashioned Aussie rock music draw you in and change the way you view the world, then you might just need to check out the music video for ‘Inside Out’ from Sydney’s Tshitaki.

For those who’ve had their finger on the pulse of the Aussie music scene for some time now, there’s a fair chance you might have heard of Tshitaki. Taking a no-frills approach to their craft, the three-piece hail from Sydney’s Northern Beaches and serve up an unrelenting assault of turbo charged rock ‘n’ roll.

Having served as a live favourite for quite some time now, the group today unleash their latest album, World Keeps Turning. Full of the blistering riffs, pounding rhythms, and soaring vocals you’ve come to love, they’re contemporary enough to sit alongside classics like Hüsker Dü, Cog, and the Pixies, yet dangerous enough to break more new ground than a faulty jackhammer.

To celebrate the release of their new record, the group have today shared video clip for their latest single, ‘Inside Out’. With lyrics that speak of an internal struggle, the clip itself sees the band returning to where they’re most at home – performing live.

The three-minute Damien Foxton-directed performance clip sees Tshitaki powering through the monolith of a song, belting out the track with an intensity rarely seen by many bands on the scene. Between black-and-white and colour footage, the trio showcase exactly why they’re one band you need to be paying much more attention to.

“The song ‘Inside Out’ is about the internal battle we go through of what we want and what we really need,” explains guitarist/vocalist Nik Phillpot. “It feels all too relevant right now, given the situation we are all finding ourselves in.

“We wanted the clip to be raw and honest and try and capture the feel of the songs core message. Originally the idea was to have half of the clip “inside” and then the other half “outside”, unfortunately the Aussie summer served us up about two weeks of straight up rain in the window we had to shoot the clip, so we had a change of plan and location.

“We ended up doing the whole clip in this rustic barn in North Western Sydney. It was a property Mullos (our bass player) had been working on throughout the summer installing a bushfire sprinkler system. He was there as fires were approaching, working his arse off around the clock to protect this house, so the owners were only too happy to hand over the keys for the night and let us shoot up there.

“It kind of turned out really well because if it weren’t for the rain, we probably wouldn’t have gotten to use this amazing raw space. Our old mate Damien Foxton directed the clip and it was shot by Anthony ‘Ash’ Brennan.”

With World Keeps Turning being released independently today, fans are also able to grab a physical copy of their new album via Tshitaki’s Bandcamp.
