Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, and Testament cover Rush’s ‘YYZ’ in isolation

Whilst we’d all probably prefer not to be cooped up in our homes, we can’t deny that this strange period COVID-19 self-isolation has seen our favourite musicians stretch the bounds of creativity and provide us with constant entertainment.

In the latest instalment of musicians doing things in isolations, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick, and Suicidal Tendencies bassist Roberto “Ra” Diaz have joined forces to perform a quarantine cover of Rush classic ‘YYZ’ — all from the comfort of their individual homes. Each musician recorded their individual part separately in isolation. It’s an absolute thrash feast.

The cover comes nearly two months after the death of legendary Rush drummer Neil Peart. Listen to it below.

In related news, metal icons Anthrax, Megadeth, and many others are bringing something innovative to the isolation table: free online lessons to music students.

The ‘School’s Out’, the online initiative is being put on by Megadeth’s own bassist, David Ellefson through his Youth Music Foundation, which is aimed at school-age students who are pursuing music education.
