Perth rockers Birds of Tokyo have announced that they will be hosting an online song creation workshop this Sunday, April 19th at 4 pm AEST. If you have a well of self isolation-induced emotions and you don’t know what to do with them, perhaps this will teach you how to turn them into a song.
“SONG CREATION WORKSHOP 🎼🎧🎸🎹🎤🥁 Join us as we share EVERYTHING we know and do in our world of making songs. From initial demo ideas through to completion, lyrics and stories behind our songs,” the band shared in a Facebook post. “For songwriters or music boffins alike… We want to open up our space and hopefully give some inspo during this crazy time and hopefully find something to take with you on your creative journey right now.”

It’s a very exciting initiative. It’s so heartwarming seeing musicians and artists dedicate their time to offering their learned wisdom to the rest of us that are feeling all the feelings but are not sure what to do about them.
Yesterday it was announced that members of Tool, Megadeth and Korn will team up with the Berklee College of Music on a live stream webinar on bass and drums.
The event will feature bassist Justin Chancellor of Tool, Dave Ellegson of Megadeth and Billy Sheehan — who has cut his teeth with David Lee Roth and Steve Vai. If you have a penchant for percussions drummers Danny Carey of Tool, Ray Luzier of Korn and Dirk Verbeuren of Megadeth will be joining the party.
