Matt Okine and Alex Dyson will go down as legends of triple j Breakfast, and now the pair are teasing a return of some sort.

Matt & Alex wrapped up a wild and wonderful three years together at the end of 2016, and it feels like a return to the radio could be on the cards for the first time since they left their full-time triple j gigs.

A mysterious Instagram account has popped up called simply ‘matt.and.alex’. Matt Okine is following the account, as is Hit Network host Ash London, so we figure it’s not just some rogue fan wishing for a return to the duo’s halcyon days.

There’s no bio, but there is one post with the caption ‘Hello’ and a picture of your boys Crum and Rat Dog.

“Praying for a triple j mornings come back,” speculated one commenter. “What are you two rascals up to?” asked another.

While a return to triple j would seem unlikely, Aussie radio industry site Radio Today reports that a big announcement from the pair is “imminent”.

Alex Dyson has also been posting on his own Insta, tagging the new @matt.and.alex handle.

Since departing triple j Matt & Alex have kept busy, with Okine starring and directing in his own TV series called The Other Guy, and dropping his first book Being Black n’ Chicken, & Chips.

Dyson has also dropped his own book called When It Drops, as well as launching a podcast called Mirth with fellow former triple j host Kyran Wheatley.

Whether it’s a full-on return to radio in the works, or something else entirely, we’re bloody well here for some more good news during social isolation.

So cast your mind back to some of Matt & Alex’s greatest moments with their final ever ‘Pack ‘er up boys’
